As proud owners of TheInitialBaby.com, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for visiting our site, and share our sincere hope that you’ll let us help you find just the right way to congratulate a friend or family member, spoil a grandchild or treat your own children to something special. The products on our site were handpicked because they had a look we loved and quality we felt right about offering.

Today the four of us are best friends, business partners and honorary members of each other’s extended family, but our story starts more than 10 years ago, when we became friends while students at Saint Louis University. Over the years, we’ve shared it all—our college days, career paths, engagements, weddings, countless Saturday nights, Sunday mornings, group vacations and the birth of Maggie and Ryan’s son Owen in 2006. All the while we daydreamed about going into business together, and when the opportunity to get involved in TheInitialBaby.com came along, we instantly knew it was the perfect fit. After all, by this time many of our friends and family members had been blessed with babies that we wanted to welcome with an adorable outfit or perfect present. We were constantly on the lookout for an ‘off the registry’ gift as special as the baby that would receive it.

But it’s our hope that shopping on this site will be mean more than just an on-line purchase. We hope to use it as a vehicle to help support causes that are important to us through charitable donations and a way to spotlight the work of creative, independent artists from around the country.

And although we all still continue our ‘day’ jobs, Meredith as an editor and writer, Maggie as a first-grade teacher, Josh in sales and Ryan in real estate, we couldn’t be happier at taking on TheInitialBaby.com as a true labor of love.
